SHORTAGE ALERT

Power Outage at Major Plant

Several companies at a major manufacturing site in southern Taiwan were affected by a power outage on Wednesday, April 14th, according to a recent article published by Nasdaq. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) was among them. The media reported that electricity has since been restored to the plant.

The official Central News Agency stated, “an underground power line was accidentally severed during construction work in the science park in Tainan in the late morning but that normal supplies had resumed as of 4 p.m. (0800GMT).” Due to the global chip shortage, investors and customers are carefully monitoring the operations of the plant.
